Please visit
my brand new blog and leave me a message! Thank you! Life in New Mexico Yes, we do have autumn in New Mexico. The temperatures turn cooler, especially at night, and the leaves do turn golden. And in Albuquerque, we have the additional color of the Balloon Fiesta. I continue to get excited about those glorious days at the beginning of every October when the skies are filled with hundreds of balloons from all over the world. It's a great excuse to act like a kid again. My Books!
Two of my
books are now available in the Resources section of my website: Please click on the link to go there and purchase these useful and inexpensive guides: 64 Tips for Informational Interviews and the Master Mind Moderator Toolkit. Thank you!
What's in this issue?
I don't know anyone who has performed perfectly the first time all the time at whatever they have attempted in life. And quite frankly, when I do come across someone for whom a new task seems effortless, I consider that boring. As the very wise trainer Bob Pike has said, "The learning is in the wobbles." This is where life gets interesting. We stand up to walk. We fall. We try again. We learn determination, and we gain a sense of accomplishment every time we struggle to learn something new. We build true self-esteem that is based in reality because we took on a challenge and succeeded. I once attended a music workshop where the featured artist was a young man who played extremely well. However, he was at a stage where he was getting by on his natural talent. Fortunately for him, he possessed an abundance of talent. What he could not do, though, was provide any guidance for the young musicians who had come to learn from him. When asked to explain how to execute specific techniques, he did not know how to explain. "I don't know. I just do it." As he grew older and needed to expand his repertoire and his technical expertise, he lacked the discipline and practice skills to refine his craft. Strange as it may seem, we can appreciate our stumbles along the way to achieving our goals. They help us to learn and grow, and they make victory that much sweeter when we cross our own personal finish line. We know we have earned it! Are you struggling with a challenge now? Congratulations! Be grateful for the "wobbles." They remind you that you have chosen a task that is worth accomplishing. Keep track of what you are learning and be proud.
